Course Description Fundamentals of web authoring: screen design, use of Web page creation tools, and functional use of HTML. Design and implementation of instructional strategies using web sites. Taught using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX

Final project New Faculty 201: A primer for New Faculty on Learning Theories and Theorists
Purpose statement
To create a web based toolkit and resource base of information about instructional design theory and concepts for people who want to teach more effectively at the undergraduate/graduate level.

Audience Information
People who want to teach at the undergraduate/graduate level
Doctorates, Doctoral Candidates, Students in Post Graduate programs who intend focusing their careers in the future towards higher education

Objectives list
To inform the audience of key concepts and theories from the field of Instructional design and technology.
To introduce the audience to the seminal work done by some Instructional theorists such as Bloom, Gagne and Mager.
To provide the audience with a resource base to explore the subject beyond the scope of the project.
To provide the audience tips for incorporating the theories and concepts they study in real life situations.
To suggest assignments and activities that assess their understanding of the material presented.

Domain Information
Information about the key theorists in the field of instructional design and technology relevant to teachers in higher education. E.g.
- Bloom: Taxonomy of Educational Objectives
- Gagne: Conditions of learning
- Mager: Preparing objectives for programmed instruction
- Brief Bios of these key theorists and links to some of their papers
- Links to other relevant theories and concepts
- Suggested reading lists relevant to the topic
- List of Universities/Organizations currently offering specialized faculty development services

Web Specification
· All HTML Pages to be functional with the following browsers:
· Internet Explorer 4.0 & up,
· Netscape Communicator 4.0 & up
· HTML pages will be created for a screen area of 800 X 600 pixels.
· All images used for Navigation or Graphics will have alt tags for accessibility
