Writing is at least a two-part process. It includes developing the plot and then writing the words. In a comic book, the actual writing consists of captions and dialogue balloons. Thats not a lot of words to work with, so strong plotting is important.

Plotting means taking a story idea or log line and fleshing it out. A strong plot should take the reader on a journey. It starts at one point, has a halfway point, and then reaches its destination. The journey may include side trips or deadends. A good plot has logical beginning, progresses while establishing the characters and explaining their motivation, then reaches a climax, which resolves any problems or questions.

Your plot will naturally revolve around the character you are working with. The plot should contain plenty of action or humor, depending on the character. Things should happen in a logical sequence so the story flows along.

The plot for our Halloween story:
It has a beginning (the boy finds himself trapped), an action-packed middle (the
monsters chase the confused boy), and an ending with a twist (the boy believes the guard will save him, but the boy learns instead that he himself is a mannequin who only comes to life once a year, on Halloween night.
