Before we develop our plot into a script or a storyboard, a brief note about comic pages and panels.

Each comic book page is broken down into various panels. Each block of art or framed drawing you see on a comic book page is considered a panel. Each separate panel must be an individual work or art that helps develop the story.

How many panels should be on a comic page? Five? Six? Twelve panels? There is no set number of panels that writers and artists use. A scene with a lot of action involving many characters might work best in one large panel.
